goa BeachesFeel the Magic of Palm-Fringed Shores

Lined up with tall palm trees, this dramatic beach is a protrusion of red laterite cliff along a sandy strip. Every Saturday a flea market is organized here by Germans that sell all kind of western products one wishes to buy. For those who love late night parties, the beach is full of Open Air Clubs. Quite near to Vagator (3.6 km) is another beach Anjuna; which is famous for its hippie culture. In a stretch of almost 2 kms, Anjuna provides a plethora of water activities, yoga, reiki, ayurvedic massages that are preferred by visitors. Anjuna Flea market every Wednesday is popular among tourists.

Calangute / Baga BeachNorth Goa

Two adjoining beaches of Calangute and Baga are ideal for swimmers and also hip-hop. Divine beauty surrounds here in a semi circle comprising of the villages of Arpora-Nagoa, Saligao and Candolim. Counted among the most happening beaches of Goa, the entire shoreline is full of shacks that sell authentic Goan food; specially sea-food. Baga Beach starts exactly where Calangute ends; it is less crowded compared to other beaches and have a wide range of water sports on offer. People come here to indulge in wine and food, also taking advantage of the electric nightlife.

Aguada / Candolim BeachCandolim, North Goa

A well maintained beach and a destination for water sport lovers; it is also home to the 17th century Aguada Fort. The beach is full of fun activities and also has a lot of shacks that serve mouth watering delicacies. Swimming enthusiasts prefer to go to this place as it is well monitored by lifeguards. Imposing fort Aguada, standing tall here is a major attraction and provides great opportunity for photography. This fort stood as a defense against Marathas and Dutch. Visitors can go for some hiking in the fort to get a perfect view of the sea and also magnificent sunrise and sunsets. The beach also has a 19th-century lighthouse on this hilltop, offering spectacular views of the coastline.

Palolem, ChaudiCanacona, South Goa

Tagged as Goa’s finest beach, palm fringed Palolem is breathtaking in every sense. A favourite haunt for swimmers, its charm and character offers both relaxation and adventure. Those who are quite bored from lazing in the beach can go dolphin watching or fishing. Kayaking can be a very good option here to explore the surroundings. During low tide, butterfly beach nearby can be visited for hiking trails and also sunset watching. Wildlife enthusiasts can also go for a safari in Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary near Palolem. Shopping can be done in the strip of shops that sell funky clothes, artificial jewellery and souvenirs. Goan cooking lessons and wellness programs are popular among visitors.

Morjim Beach Morjim North Goa

Nesting ground for Olive Ridley Sea Turtles, Monjim got its name from Goddess Morzai, who as per legend came here riding on a peacock. Just next to the calm and quiet Ashwem beach, this area is called Little Russia, as most of the residents here belong to Russia. Morjim is synonymous to soft light sand and the sea here is shallow, flat and fordable. It is a favorite haunt for swimmers, who also indulge in kite surfing. Small shack and night clubs here are always full with party lovers. Landscape here comprises of forests, palm trees, grooves, forests and cottages. The shoreline is full of houses, villas and bungalows that reflect Goan charm, including the nearby Morjim village.

Colva BeachSalcete, South Goa

A very popular tourist destination, this beach has a great Portuguese significance and is full of buildings that speak of the bygone era. As it extends from Bogmalo till Cabo de Rama, the entire shoreline welcomes with thousands of coconut reefs. Colva offers a plethora of water sport activities to choose from. Some of them are parasailing, snorkeling, speed boating, jet skiing, motor boating and banana ride. Leisure activities like sea bathing, seaside walking and sand palace making are popular.
